Firefighters from Tenby experienced a busy morning yesterday (Thursday) as severe windy weather again hit the town and surrounding area. First call for the brigade was to a house in Holloway Court, Penally, where the crew assisted with an unsafe roof, shortly before 11 am. Just over an hour later, firefighters were called to Tenby's Jewsons, where piping was reported hanging off the building's guttering. Next stop for the crew was to South Cliff House, where they assisted in making an aerial safe on the premises' roof.
School closes early
Tenby's Greenhill Secondary School was forced to close early yesterday (Thursday) because of the prevailing weather conditions. Pupils who travel to and from school by bus were collected at 1.15 pm, while other pupils who lived closer-by could make their way home on foot or be looked after in school until collected by their parents at the usual time at the close of the school day.
