As many of you might know, there was a teddy bear exhibition at Begelly Church - what a wonderful event it was too (writes S. E.). We were delighted to exhibit our teddy, who sadly had been shut in at the top of the cupboard for a long time. I'm sure he and beaver enjoyed the attention from all the visitors.

During the summer holidays, 1st Kilgetty Scout Group have been very busy at the Scout Hut, having had a lot of work completed on the building. This is all thanks to a grant from Award for All Wales.

The Scout Hut has had new carpet and flooring throughout, plumbing repaired, kitchen revamped and painted throughout.

Outdoors, we have had the car park enlarged, with new surface and fencing around it. This will be greatly appreciated by all parents who drop-off their children, especially when we have a lot of rain, as the field got very slippery and many got stuck!

So our thanks go to our workforce who carried out the work: carpenter Chris James, plumber Malcolm Thomas, painter and decorator Andrew Emanuel, carpets from Classic Carpets, plant digger Neville Davies, fencing by Tony Dunn and stone was kindly donated by Carew Quarries. Also thanks to those few parents and leaders who cleared the hut ready for the work. It now looks good and ready for a new term.

Sections of the group would like to do some planting around the outside of the hut. Could we please appeal for any donations?

Anyone who could make a donation of shrubs, plants or bulbs can contact Daphne on 813132 or Kate on 871589.
