Tenby Male Choir are pleased to announce that they have finalised their concert programme for the 2013 season, with a full schedule lined up from March to October.
Venues are varied, from those in Tenby itself to others locally in Pembrokeshire and beyond, including Keynsham, Bristol, and Worcester.
Many of the concerts are being staged for charitable organisations and there will also be an appearance at a wedding function, while a good variety of songs are always featured, including ones from the shows, old favourites and of course songs in both English and Welsh.
The first concert of the season will be on St. David's Day, Friday, March 1, at St. Johns Church, Tenby, followed at the end of the month by an Easter Sunday concert at the same venue, both commencing at 8 pm.
The progamme concludes over the weekend of October 25, 26 and 27, when the choir takes to the road for a joint concert with Worcester MVC at Worcester Cathedral.
Concerts are an enjoyable evening of good music at a low cost or if you just want a taste of what the choir is like you are welcome to call in to their Giltar Hotel evenings during the summer, for which there is no charge.
New members to the choir are always welcome. Current members of the choir all know how good singing makes them feel, but there has been lots of research which has shown both physical and mental benefits from singing, so why not get involved?
It is not necessary to have previous membership of a choir or any other singing experience. You are welcome to just go along and watch a rehearsal before making any commitment if you would prefer. The choir meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays at the County Club, The Croft, Tenby, at 8 pm. There is an excellent social aspect to the choir and following rehearsal there is the opportunity to enjoy a chat, the odd joke and perhaps a drink or two in the club bar. Check out their excellent website at http://www.tenbymalechoir.org">www.tenbymalechoir.org which has contact details, photographs and video clips of some of the choir's songs.
