Tenby's all-weather lifeboat, Haydn Miller, launched at 3.50 pm on Friday after a member of the public had become separated from her dog on the cliff path between Manorbier and East Moors.

Coastguards were concerned that the owner of the dog could possibly put herself in danger while trying to trace the animal.

The family of the dog were holidaying in the area from Market Harborough, Leicestershire.

Members of Tenby Coastguard Rescue Team were quickly on scene and with no sighting of the dog, called Bronwen, in the sea, the lifeboat headed for Tenby.

While on route, Milford Haven Coastguard received reports of people trapped on the cliff at First Point, Tenby, and the lifeboat was tasked to investigate.

On arrival, it was found that two of them had managed to scramble to safety, but two others remained trapped.

The Y-boat was deployed from the all-weather lifeboat and proceeded to the rocks, manned by two volunteer crew. They were taken on board the lifeboat and back to the lifeboat station and treated by ambulance personnel, as both were wet and very cold.

The two men aged 20 and 22 were from Birmingham and Stoke-On-Trent.
