A PEMBROKESHIRE-based digital marketing and website design agency has announced a new initiative offering free website design to independent restaurants, cafés, pubs and hospitality businesses across Wales.
Whitestone Media Group has launched the initiative in direct response to growing financial pressures facing the hospitality sector, including rising business rates, increased operating costs and a concerning number of recent closures. It aims to help companies to attract new customers and remain viable.
Dayne Stone, Director of Whitestone Media Group, said: “We are seeing firsthand how tough things are right now for restaurants and hospitality businesses. These are businesses that form the backbone of our communities, yet many do not have the time or budget to invest in their online presence even though that is exactly where customers are looking.”
Whitestone Media Group currently designs and manages websites for hundreds of local businesses across Wales, giving the team direct insight into how customer behaviour has shifted in recent years.
“More and more people are discovering businesses online first,” Mr Stone added.
“If you are not visible, clear and easy to find online, you are already at a disadvantage.”
“As of January 5, we’ve moved into the Bridge Innovation Centre, allowing us to grow our team, our facilities and the resources we can offer to local businesses. It gives us the space to run free training sessions, practical workshops and digital support days for businesses that might otherwise struggle to access that kind of help.”

Whitestone Media Group says a strong website is no longer a luxury for hospitality businesses. It is essential.
Customers search online first when deciding where to eat, drink or visit. A professional website builds trust, showcases menus, pricing and reviews, and removes uncertainty. Clear online information converts interest into bookings, visits and sales, and search visibility helps level the playing field against national chains and delivery platforms
Mr Stone added: “When budgets are tight, visibility becomes even more important. A well built website can directly increase footfall and bookings. It is one of the strongest tools a business has to fight back against closure.”
Eligible hospitality businesses will receive a professionally designed, mobile-friendly, website tailored to their business at no cost, including ongoing guidance to help businesses make the most of their site
The initiative forms part of the company’s wider commitment to helping businesses adapt, grow and remain resilient during challenging economic conditions. It is aimed at independent Welsh businesses and is not limited to those in the hospitality industry. It will be offered on a limited, first-come basis to ensure quality delivery and hands-on support.
Mr Stone said: “If we can remove one barrier for a business, even just their website costs and help bring new customers through the door, then that is worth doing. Strong local businesses make strong communities.”
How to apply: Businesses interested in the free website design initiative can register their interest at Whitestonemediagroup.co.uk, email [email protected] or call 07495 879836.
