A hardworking heating engineer is putting Pembroke Dock on the map after securing a place in the national final of Screwfix Top Tradesperson 2026.
Lee Davies will go head-to-head with nine other standout tradespeople from across the UK & Ireland at the final later this month, where just one will take home the prestigious title together with a prize bundle worth £20,000/€20,000.
After 24 years mastering his craft across south-west Wales, Lee impressed the judges at the semi-final stage when he spoke of his passion for the trade and daily commitment to going above and beyond for his customers.
Lee is a forward-thinking heating and plumbing business owner who has grown a successful company through customer service, quality workmanship and investment in people.
Since launching his business in 2019, Lee has built a thriving operation employing engineers, office staff and apprentices, with a strong focus on developing talent.
Specialising in plumbing, heating and emerging technologies such as air source heat pumps, he is committed to keeping pace with industry change while maintaining high standards for customers.
Lee’s values are professionalism, punctuality and delivering quality work, and he sees every project as a service centred on the customer experience. By investing in systems and communication tools, he has created a clear, reassuring journey from enquiry to completion. A strong advocate for apprenticeships, Lee works closely with local colleges and promotes the variety and earning potential of trade careers.
The national final takes place at Screwfix Live on 25th September, in front of a panel of industry experts. They include current Screwfix Top Tradesperson, builder Martin Daly, alongside representatives from CIPHE, NICEIC and FMB. Each finalist will have the opportunity to showcase why they should be crowned Screwfix Top Tradesperson 2026.
As well as claiming the title, the winner will also take home a business-boosting £20,000/€20,000 prize bundle of tools, tech, and training.
Lee commented: “I am so proud to have secured a place in the final of Screwfix Top Tradesperson 2026. I am passionate about the trade and always seek to deliver the highest standards across my work and customer service, so I look forward to sharing this with the judges. The final looks to be full of talented tradespeople, but it’s great to be able to represent Pembroke Dock, and other hardworking heating engineers.”
Jack Wallace, Marketing Director at Screwfix, said: “From hundreds of entries, we have identified our top 10, and each one of our finalists should feel incredibly proud of their achievement so far.
“Once again, the standard of entries has been exceptional this year, and the panel of judges will have a tough job picking a champion.
“Tradespeople have such a positive impact on the communities they serve, and Screwfix Top Tradesperson is just one of the ways we recognise the hard work and passion they have. I wish all the finalists the best of luck and look forward to meeting them at the final!”
