Pembroke Dock-based Ledwood Group has appointed Rob Cherry as Chair as it continues to expand its presence across the UK’s energy, infrastructure and industrial sectors.
The appointment comes at a time of increasing opportunity in major programmes including nuclear new build, renewable energy and floating offshore wind, as the company looks to strengthen its leadership and governance capabilities to support long-term growth.
Rob Cherry brings more than 30 years’ experience in corporate law and governance, having been an equity partner and main board director at Blake Morgan LLP, where he led the firm’s Corporate Division. During his career, he advised major organisations including BP Chemicals, PHS Group plc, Vale Europe and Barchester Homes, as well as a wide range of regional SMEs.
Since retiring from Blake Morgan in 2022, he has focused on supporting growing businesses through consultancy, non-executive directorships and investment activities. He currently holds a number of advisory and non-executive roles across South Wales-based businesses in sectors including healthcare, resources and manufacturing.
Rob said: “Ledwood has built a strong reputation as a trusted engineering contractor delivering complex projects across the UK. I am delighted to be joining the business at an exciting stage in its development and look forward to supporting its continued growth and strategic direction.”
Nick Revell, Managing Director of Ledwood Group, remarked: “Rob brings a wealth of commercial, legal and strategic experience, and his appointment strengthens our leadership team at an important point in our growth. His insight and governance expertise will support our long-term ambitions as we continue to build our presence across key infrastructure and energy markets.”
Nick also paid tribute to outgoing Chair Allan Davies, who will continue to support the business in a consultancy capacity, stating: “We would like to thank Allan for his significant contribution to Ledwood over many years.”
