The semi-finalists for the 3rd Turta Turkish Restaurant & Takeaway Awards have officially been announced, and they include a newcomer from Pembrokeshire.

Turkish Kitchen, at 19-21 Quay Street, Haverfordwest, is a semi-finalist in the Best Newcomer category.

Led by Hatice Eltan and her dedicated team, Turkish Kitchen offers a warm, family-friendly atmosphere where traditional recipes - from freshly baked simit to carefully seasoned kebabs - meet modern dining.

With an unbroken record of five star reviews on TripAdvisor, Turkish Kitchen is renowned for the same friendly service and tasty food that made Hatice’s previous venture, the Turkish Nostalgia Café in Pembroke Dock, so popular.

One reviewer has written: “From the moment we arrived, the staff greeted us with genuine warmth, making us feel like part of the family. With vibrant touches that reflect Turkish culture without feeling themed or overdone. It's the balance of flavour and authenticity in every dish.”

Hatice told the Observer: “It’s great to hear that we have been chosen for Turta Awards, it’s an honour. It’s been a great success in such a short time we have been thrilled with all the great reviews and the support from our community.”

This year’s semi-finalists highlight not only culinary excellence but also the cultural and economic contribution of the Turkish food industry to Britain. The prestigious awards ceremony will take place in London on Monday, November 3, 2025.

The Turta Awards have grown into one of the most anticipated events in the UK’s hospitality calendar, showcasing the restaurants, cafés, and takeaways that bring Turkish flavours to communities nationwide. The awards celebrate establishments that embody quality, creativity, and community spirit – values that have made Turkish cuisine one of the UK’s fastest-growing and most beloved dining sectors.

The semi-finalists will now compete for a place in the finals, with winners announced at the grand awards ceremony.
