Local Senedd Member Paul Davies has recently visited RWE to learn more about the company's work in delivering projects and its plans for the future.
Mr Davies, Conservative Senedd Member for Ceredigion Penfro, visited RWE’s Pembroke Power Station, which is one of the largest and one of the most efficient gas power plants in the UK, powering the equivalent of 3.5 million homes.
During the visit, Mr Davies met with representatives from RWE, including Nikolaus Valerius, Chief Executive Officer of RWE Generation SE, to discuss some of the work the company is currently doing and its work in supporting local businesses and the local community.
Mr Davies said: "RWE is a major employer in west Wales and makes a huge contribution to Wales’ energy needs and so it’s always great to have an update from the team and learn more about the work that’s currently being done here in Pembrokeshire.”
"We had a really good discussion about RWE’s plans for the future and its investment in the power station – such as the new synchronous condenser which supports grid stability. Investment at the site like this deliver jobs and economic opportunities in the area.”
“We also discussed RWE’s investment in the community and the work it does to support local organisations and businesses and I look forward to working with the company as it continues to invest in its site in Pembrokeshire.”
