The owners of a food outlet in Tenby have lodged an appeal with the National Assembly for Wales after an application to extend the hours of the business over the summer was refused.

Correspondence from the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority came before members of Tenby Town Council at their meeting on Wednesday night, to inform them that the applicants of Cafe Aromas in Trafalgar Road had submitted an appeal to the planning inspectorate.

“It’s the application from the establishment that is now known as ‘Tenby’s Traditional Fish and Chips’ which councillors refused back in July, when they were seeking to extend their hours from 8.30 pm to 9.30 pm,” the town clerk, Mr. Andrew Davies, explained to members.

“PCNPA agreed with the viewpoint of the town council that the extension of trading hours would affect the amenity of residents and refused the application,” he continued.

Clr. Lawrence Blackhall told his colleagues that he believed the town council should “rigorously” reinforce what they said previously and argue that the hours of the premises should not be extended. Members agreed to this.
