The coach drawn by four white ponies, complete with footmen, could not have meant more to Cinderella than the ‘Green Dragon bus’ means to me.

My heartfelt thanks go to Pembrokeshire County Council for their compassion in providing this free service, with bus pass, for those of us not mobile enough to access public transport. It gives us independence, the opportunity to do our own shopping etc - plus the thoughtful, courteous and helpful driver on hand to help us on board and also carry that heavy load of shopping.

For me, this is a welcome outing and much anticipated. With my shopping list, I am collected from my home and taken to Sainsbury’s where I not only fill my trolley, but perhaps bump into people I have not seen for a long time, so a sociable as well as useful hour that gives me independence and confidence and boosts my morale.

Special mention must also be made of the caring staff at Sainsbury’s who are so friendly and helpful as they pack up my shopping for driver Bert to carry back to the bus and deliver me and the week’s supplies back to my front door.
