A new daily bus service linking Tenby and Carmarthen has been welcomed by South Pembrokeshire AM Angela Burns.
The move comes after the 333 service from Pembroke Dock to Carmarthen had to be reduced to a twice weekly service because of funding problems.
The 333 bus was going to be removed completely, but a vociferous public campaign and a 1,000 signature petition helped to win it a stay of execution.
"I am delighted that Silcox has been able to be so flexible and understanding in this issue," said Mrs. Burns.
"We saw from the public reaction when it was feared the 333 service was to be lost that this is a well-used route."
Silcox Coaches has slightly re-timetabled its buses so that the 381 Tenby to Haverfordwest service now links in with the 322 bus from Haverfordwest to Carmarthen bus.
It means that travellers from the south of the county will be able to get off the 381 at Narberth and catch the 322 on to Carmarthen, effectively giving them three buses a day each way between Tenby and Carmarthen.
The 333 will also continue to run two days a week between Pembroke Dock and Carmarthen.
"I am just sending off the registration documents, but I expect the service will be up and running by the middle of April," said Silcox traffic manager, Bert Dix.
Mrs. Burns added: "This is a great example of what people power and negotiation can bring about and it is great news that there will now be greater choice for people wanting to travel between Tenby and Carmarthen."
