PICTURED is 15-year-old Keira Bratcher, who recently spent a week on work experience at the Observer with a view to a future career in journalism.

A Year 10 pupil at Tenby's Greenhill School, Keira spent the week shadowing reporter Andrew Davies on a variety of assignments, including council meetings, court, school sports days and advertising features, while she also wrote several articles of her own for publications, including a report on a golden wedding.

From Sageston, she is the daughter of Kenny and Thelma Bratcher and has an elder brother, Kevin, who is 18.

She is currently studying for GCSEs in history, art, IT and textiles.

In her spare time, she plays hockey for Pembroke Under 16s and enjoys horse-riding, playing the piano and art.

She thoroughly enjoyed her week on the Observer.

"It was very good experience for the future," she said.
