Campaigners against development of one of Tenby’s last remaining green spaces continued their fight last week.
Plaid Cymru Shadow Environment and Sustainability spokesperson, Llyr Hughes Griffiths AM, visited Tenby on Thursday to view the Brynhir proposed development site, together with Simon Thomas, Regional Assembly Member.
After meeting members of the Save Brynhir green space and wildlife group, Simon Thomas, Assembly Member for Mid and West and Shadow Minister for Education, Skills and the Welsh language, said: “I will be taking forward the campaigners’ concerns regarding the protection of wildlife at the site, drainage and surface water and the loss of this important amenity to their community.
“Though the site has been in the development plan for a long time, it is appropriate to question how it will provide for Tenby’s housing needs and particularly if the provision of affordable housing for local residents will be sufficient.
“I want to thank the campaigners for alerting me to this development and impact it will have on their community. I will work to get them the answers they are seeking and to represent their views to the National Park as the planning authority.”
