The 1st Penally Brownie Pack, along with their Brown Owl, Barn Owl and Jane Davies, adult leader/ volunteer, recently took part in the BT Giant Sleepover and the Aquafresh Minty Mouth Challenge at Penally Village Hall. The purpose of the event was to raise money for charity and to break the Guinness world record twice - once for the biggest simultaneous sleepover and Aquafresh Minty Mouth Challenge. The Penally Brownies were among over 38,000 participants who took part. Lots of fun was had by all and the Guinness world record was broken twice - once for the biggest simultaneous sleepover and secondly the largest simultaneous tooth brushing session, where the girls had to brush their teeth for two minutes starting at 9.30 am following the sleepover. The girls were given goody bags for completing the sleepover and a special Brownie sleepover badge. They also learned about reducing their carbon footprint and have made pledges to reduce the carbon footprint by walking to school, turning off unused lights and encouraging their parents to buy local produce etc.   Special thanks go to Stephen Turner, of Penally, for providing the milk free of charge for much-needed tea and cereal and and also to Jane Davies, a brave volunteer, for spending the night with 12 noisy Brownies!
