Brothers Gerald and Chris Brace both competed in the Broadhaven triathlon last Saturday, which consisted of a 1,500m swim, 43k bike ride and a 10.9k run.
Gerald completed the race a massive 25 minutes ahead of his younger brother Chris, but Gerald does have the advantage of being a qualified, professional personal trainer and owner of 'Brace Fitness'!
Both will compete against each other again in the half Ironman race on August 3 in Fishguard and Chris will hope to close the gap over a longer distance race.
In between this, Chris will also take part in the Long Course Weekend, which starts on Friday, July 12, at 6.30 pm, on North Beach, with a 2.4-mile swim, followed on the Saturday with a 112-mile bike ride and ending on Sunday with a full 26.2-mile marathon.
The two brothers have taken up the challenges to raise money for the Gareth Scotcher Trust Fund and any kind donations/sponsorship can be handed into or posted to 18 Lower Park Road, Tenby, SA70 7NG.
The money they both raise will be pooled with the money raised from the 'Iron Beaver challenge'. See http://www.longcourseweekend.com">www.longcourseweekend.com for further information.
"We are 'Backing the Beaver'," added Chris.
