FOLLOWING a successful tour of the USA in 2005, Narberth-born Julia Jones and her band 'Propane Buddies' return to the town's Queen's Hall on Friday, January 27. A former pupil of Narberth Primary and Whitland Grammar School, Julia relocated to New York in 2003 to record her first album and launch a major event entitled 'The BritBus Tour' to promote British music using her classic red double-decker bus. The first New York to LA tour in 2005 using the double-decker attracted enough media attention to reach millions of people and secured enough interest from media partners to continue the campaign. After performing in the UK, Julia and her band will return to the USA in the spring for a second annual 4,000 mile BritBus Tour performing at US towns and cities including LA, San Francisco, Denver, Chicago, Cleveland, Boston, and finally Times Square in New York. Partners include Virgin, Gibson guitars and EMI, and Jones intends to make 'The BritBus Tour' event a household name in the USA by 2007. "The aim is to secure enough support from sponsors and industry partners to afford to send different young British acts out on the road to run this event each year," she said. "It is a very effective way of bringing new British music to the attention of consumers in the huge US market. The double-decker bus carries listening posts loaded with the latest British albums." Propane Buddies will be joined at Narberth's Queen's Hall by the UK's no 1 Coldplay tribute band 'Coolplay'. Tickets are £10 and available from the Box Office on 01834 861212. Doors open at 8 pm, with Propane Buddies on stage
