Sir,

After years of campaigning and nagging, Network Rail has finally painted the Station Road bridge in Pembroke.

Four years ago, they painted the Holyland Road one and promised that the other twin bridge would be painted the following year in 2009.

What an improvement to the two entrances to our town! It was worth the wait.

Our hard fought efforts have finally paid off.

Thanks should go to the Civic Trust, Clr. Aden Brinn, County Clr. Jonathan Nutting and Simon Hart. I'll give myself a pat on the back too!

Clr. M. Phillips,

Mayor of Pembroke

FOOTNOTE: Every piece of scaffolding that is erected in Pembroke Main Street gladdens my heart. It means that, after years of negelect, properties in the street are once more being maintained and restored to their former glory.
