Plans are in the pipeline to start constructing a walkway into Narberth on a carriageway that has been labelled dangerous for pedestrians. For many years, the Bridge Hill area leading into the town has been considered a hazardous route for anyone walking along the road, leading to county councillor Wynne Evans, who was born and brought up on 'The Bridge', and his late father before him, campaigning for a solution. "What is being looked at now is a walkway, rather than a pavement, which would mean the extension of the road surface into the grass banks going down the Bridge Hill, making it a much, much safer walk to the town, especially for those young families with pushchairs etc," explained Clr. Evans. "Currently, some problems have arisen with ownership of trees in that area, which may delay things a little, but I will put the safety of people first before the felling of trees. "There will be some disruption while this work goes on, but I'm sure it will be well worth it," he added.
