A little bit of history bit the dust in Narberth last week when the old pump bridge at Mill Lane was demolished to make way for a new bridge and crossing point on a much larger scale to allow wheelchair access.
"This has been done with the safe routes scheme," said County Clr. Wynne Evans, who is pictured at the scene.
"I, like so many, have memories of this bridge known to Narberthians as the gas works bridge and the old picnic area that was located nearby.
"Work continues on phase two of the new safe routes scheme and I along with council officials will be discussing future plans shortly, and welcome input from local residents at all times."
