Sir,
Having just returned from our annual holiday in Tenby, we felt the need to write and comment on two changes made in the town during the closed season.
We have holidayed in Tenby for well over 30 years and have a great love of the town and surrounding areas. Every year on arrival, our first port of call is North Beach corner - we stop, breathe deeply and feel as though we have returned home - taking in the breathtaking sweep of North Beach bay and harbour.
However, we felt quite bereft when coming face to face with what we take to be a visitor noticeboard placed in prominent position and in our opinion an ugly, ill-conceived obstruction, obscuring part of the panoramic view around the bay.
May we respectfully suggest to the council a more appropriate site for such an item might be where most visitors arrive, ie. the entrance to any of the major car parks. Please resite.
On the other hand, as we stay in accommodation on The Croft, we have to compliment the local authority on the truly magnificent new gardens along the cliff front.
These have been thoughtfully and creatively designed to provide visitors and residents alike with a beautiful spot in which to relax whilst enjoying the fabulous view.
Well done to the creative designers, planners and gardeners. What better place can there be to enjoy an evening glass of wine!
We hope you will rethink and resite the noticeboard.
Linda and Peter Jackson,
Stockport,
Cheshire.
