A green-fingered volunteer in Tenby has been praised for work undertaken to some of the seaside town’s gardens.

Cllr Duncan Whitehurst recently referred to a walkabout around the town undertaken with fellow members of Tenby Town Council, and at the time he remarked on the eyesore garden next to Battery Gardens, but later was left impressed that it had all been tidied up by just one volunteer - Mr Tim Caddy!

The Mayor, Cllr Sam Skyrme-Blackhall felt Mr. Caddy deserved great praise as he worked ‘incredibly hard’ all over town, and was also tidying up in the War Memorial Gardens.

This photograph of the War Memorial Garden with Mr Caddy alongside was taken by Paxton Court resident Sylvie Morgan, who said she walks past the town’s Cenotaph most days, thinking what a glorious job has been made of it recently.

“He has helped tend the garden in his own time and out of his own pocket,” said Sylvie, who added that despite an offer by Tenby Freemasons, who sponsor the garden’s upkeep, Mr Caddy is happy to do what he does for free.

“Tim has also helped to look after and improve other green spaces in Tenby such as the Battery Gardens. Bravo Tim, and thank you!” she added.
