Tenby Amateur Boxing Club celebrated a magnificent achievement by local Sam Baker, who has won not one, but two Welsh boxing titles this season.

Back in February, Sam travelled to Cwmbran to box the reigning Welsh champion Kyle Jones from Cyber Colts for the 'Boys Clubs of Wales'.

Sam proved far too strong and skilful for his opponent, beating him 17 points to eight.

The following month, Sam entered the WABA National Championships, where he was drawn against Patrick Lee from the Stable Boxing Club in Cardiff.

Despite Patrick being a very experienced boxer, Sam managed to beat him comfortably nine points to two, showing a great display of boxing skills on the night to become Welsh champion for the second time this season.

Sam has now been selected to represent Wales in the forthcoming British Championships.

Head coach of Tenby ABC, Mike Haines, said: "Sam has worked extremely hard this season and deserves all the success he has had and that is coming his way. Well done and good luck for the British Championships."
