INDOOR SCENE
All members of the Junior Academy have now made the move to the indoor scene at Heatherton, and have adapted to the faster surface. Molly Spencer's first wood is still being looked for. Good job the doors were closed or it would have ended up in St. Florence. All the juniors are now entering the indoor competitions and friendlies. Any youngster in the area is invited to attend these sessions, held on Wednesdays from 4 to 5.30 pm. Any News Items
With our outdoor season now over, we naturally do not have as much bowling or general news to put in our column. Reports from various individuals say they enjoy the weekly column, so to keep it like that, we look to the members to make contributions. Anything that you think is of interest, or of good to the club, we will try and publish. Of course, the final say lays with the Lord High Admiral, alias Neil Dickinson. But it is amazing what an offer of a pint does!
JOAN TAKES A BACK SEAT
Bowling Club whist is now adopting the winter progamme. Play is every Thursday at 7.15 pm and on Saturday at 2 pm. New members are very welcome to join us in good company and in very comfortable surrondings. Tea and biscuits at half- time in the fine bar/lounge. You can also take a refreshing 'apres whist' drink from our well- stocked bar. Joan Dorling, who has been running the Bowling Club whist for many years has decided to take a much-deserved back seat. After many years playing bowls and actively supporting club affairs, Joan's service was recognised by her peers and she was made a life member of Tenby Bowling Club. Joan's response was to run and increase the whist drives to all year round (previously a winter only pastime), much to the delight of the Tenby and district members. Joan can now sit back and enjoy herself with the grateful thanks of all the whist players and from the Tenby Bowling Club management team for a job well done. Our Aud
Bubbly, energetic, sparkling, Audrey Owens was last week voted into the office of junior vice-president of the West Wales Ladies Bowling Association. This is a great honour for one of our most popular members. This means that in the next few years our club will have two lady presidents, as besides Audrey, Julia King Thomas will be the president of the Welsh Ladies Bowls Association the year after next. There will be a lot of bowing and scraping I expect. Well done girls. Annual General Meeting
At this week's committee meeting, it was decided to hold the AGM on Wednesday, November 15, starting at 7 pm. Put the date in your diary. Season 2007
Some dates to remember! The green opens on April 7, Easter Saturday. Gold Cup will be held between Sunday, July 29 and Saturday, August 4. Ladies pairs and the mixed triples will be played week commencing August 13. The Texaco Tournament will be on September 8 and 9, and Finals weekend will September 15 and 16. The green closes on September 23, but this may be extended if we have a friendly match or go on a mini tour to South Africa. The list will be displayed on the noticeboard if this happens... and pigs might fly! Bonus Ball
Last week's lucky winners were Dai King Thomas - odds on some of that went in the Chinese restaurant - and Alison Redman.
