Whitland entertained Glamorgan Wanderers last Saturday at Parc Llwyn Ty Gwyn. The visitors arrived feeling confident of victory, having suffered only one defeat this season, but Whitland outscored them by three tries to nil, to win comfortably 23 points to 12. The only points scored in the first half came from the boots of Aled Davies for Whitland, who kicked one penalty, and Dan Jones for Glamorgan Wanderers, who replied with two, to leave the visitors holding a 6-3 advantage at half-time. The second half saw Whitland's pack boss the opposition and man-of-the-match, scrum-half Gareth Davies, bagged the Borderers' first try, with outside-half Davies adding the conversion points. Jones hit back with two more penalties for the Wanderers, before Aled Davies again gave Whitland the lead with his second penalty of the afternoon. The Borderers were not content with that, however, and went on to seal a well-deserved victory with two further unconverted tries, scored by second row and captain for the day, Ben Armstrong, and number eight John Bowen. Tomorrow (Saturday), Whitland have another home match when they entertain high-flying Beddau, kick-off 2.30 pm.
