AN airline pilot with strong local connections has recently launched his first book.
Fifty-one-year-old Paul Carroll, wrote 'The Beekeeper Show', a murder mystery with a comic edge, while his work as a British Airways long haul pilot kept him away from his home in Marlow.
Described by the publishers as 'a witty and intriguing mystery', the action takes place in rural Suffolk, where Paul was stationed for eight years while he was a Tornado pilot in the RAF.
The peace and tranquility of the picturesque, but fictional town of Melbury is shattered during harvest time as locals prepare for their annual show and a man is found brutally murdered.
The police investigation develops into farce as a series of mysterious events suggest a more sinister motive for the killing.
Paul, whose parents Bill and Netta Carroll live in Penally, lived at Simpsons Cross in the early 1980s when he was a flying instructor with the RAF stationed at Brawdy.
