Bluestone management say they are delighted with the response to the current recruitment drive. Through a series of events throughout the county, Bluestone managers have spoken to over 3,000 people about the job opportunities at Pembrokeshire's new short-break destination, and more than 300 applications have already been received. "We're very pleased with how people have responded to the Bluestone roadshows," said director of human resources, Debbie Rainbow. "We're now writing to candidates, inviting them along to the assessment days due to commence in January - so if you're interested in a career at Bluestone, but haven't sent in your application, then you really need to get moving!" Bluestone will require 400 people in post ready for the opening in June, and another 300 when the second phase of accommodation and the snow centre are complete. Bluestone has also signed the Local Employment Partnership, which is a commitment to working with Jobcentre Plus to help long-term benefit claimants back into the workplace. Debbie added: "We have been awarded the Positive About Disabled People symbol, as we have committed to employing people with disabilities and we're also committed to providing an on-site crèche, which we hope will help lone parents back into the workplace. We're also working closely with Pembrokeshire County Council to ensure reliable, affordable transport to Bluestone. "We know there are barriers which can make it difficult for people to come back into the workplace, but recruiting the right people is absolutely crucial for us, so we're doing all we can to remove those barriers." Pam Sutton, Jobcentre Plus district manager for South West Wales, added: "I am delighted we have signed this Local Employment Partnership Agreement with Bluestone. "It demonstrates the existing working relationship, which can only become stronger, in helping Bluestone with their recruitment needs and Jobcentre Plus customers back into employment."
