There's no need to splash out on a souvenir t-shirt to mark the 40th anniversary of Tenby's famous Boxing Day Swim.

For the shirts are free of charge to everyone collecting £20 or more for The Big Red Swim's nominated charities.

The fun festive event, organised by Tenby Sea Swimming Association, has chosen Ty Hafan as its main beneficiary this year.

"We aim to celebrate the swim's special birthday in style, and we know our supporters are going to be delighted with their Big Red t-shirts," said TSSA chairman Chris Osborne.

"It's our way of saying thank you to those thousands of people who have braved every type of weather imaginable to take a Boxing Day dip in the sea in Tenby, and have helped the event to become one of Britain's top festive highlights."

The shirts are immediately available, and can be claimed from the office of the FBM Holidays in St. Julian Street, Tenby, which is joined by Jago, Celvac Environmental and Trefloyne Manor in sponsoring the swim.

Explained Chris: "All you have to do is take along your sponsor form and your first £20 cash - or proof of on-line donations - and the shirt is yours.

"We're sure they will be in great demand, and look forward to see a veritable red army on the beach on Boxing Day!"
