Sir
So police are concerned about the number of incidents of alcohol abuse among children (last week's Observer). Not as concerned as parents are.
We even see a mention of Tenby as "having a teenage drinking culture" in the Daily Mail recently. This in a letter from a worried parent.
But it does not end there. Before long parents of the culprits start getting correspondence from Greenhill School, complaining about lack of interest in school work and failure to do homework, some already have had this!
But where do they get the alcohol? I've witnessed boys asking people to go into Somerfield with them to buy it, as they would be refused on their own. Parents need some help! They are at their wits end when kids come in reeking of alcohol.
Imagine if drugs were on the scene in the amount there is in some South Wales valley towns! Tackle the problem before it gets worse.
Failure to pass exams and get any good results follows, thus blighting young lives. It may even follow with years of addiction.
