Fifty years ago this month, in 1958, on the Feast of the Nativity of John the Baptist (June 24), a young Dewi Bridges (aged 25) was ordained priest in St. Woolos Cathedral. To mark the 50th anniversary of Bishop Dewi's priesting, he presided at the Eucharist this week in St. Mary's Church on Tuesday, June 24. The members at St. Mary's are very proud of Bishop Dewi's long and distinguished ministry in the life of the church, and remember with fondness his time as Rector of Tenby 1979-1988. After the service, the congregation enjoyed a glass of sherry and a piece of the special cake!
