Pictured presenting a cheque for £850 to The Noah's Ark Appeal, is Andrea Ormond, of Rowston Holiday Park, New Hedges, who raised the magnificent sum of money along with the help of family and friends, who attended a 50th birthday party for her husband Dai. "The party was a joint one, as we tied the knot in secret on the same morning as Dai's birthday bash," explained Andrea. "As part of the conditions for the licence we had to charge for all the alcohol at the party, so rather than making a profit from the sales of the drinks, everyone agreed it would be a nice idea to donate the money collected and give it to a worthy cause such as The Noah's Ark Appeal. "Thanks to everyone who attended the party, and didn't mind one bit about contributing money for the cause," added Andrea. Accepting the donation on behalf of the charity were Astrid Snape and Jackie Moss, who were delighted with the gesture, explaining that the money would be used to contribute to buying new equipment for specific projects set up at the Children's Hospital For Wales, such as the teenage cancer unit and children's eye clinic.
