A good turnout on a lovely day, weatherwise, on Sunday saw 89 anglers, including seven ladies and four juniors, fishing the Pembroke and District Open Flounder Festival at Amroth.

The heaviest flounder of 755gms, worth £200, was caught by Leigh Rogers (pictured left), of Milford Haven, with Llewellyn Rose (right) having the heaviest bag of 1.63 kg, also collecting £200.

Similarily, top ladies were Tina Lustig (420gms) and N. Beckett (660gms), but, although 22 anglers managed to catch and weigh in, unfortunately none of them was a junior.

Llewellyn Rose also won the pairs with Alan Ferny, from Leigh Rogers and Andrew Jamieson.

Thanks must go to the committee, stewards on the day, West Wales Match Anglers for their help and the sponsors, Tenby Shooting and Fishing, Davies Decorators, the Amroth Arms, Ronnie James and the Nicholas family in the shape of Alex, Denis and Simon, for making the event a success.
