Christian Aid week comes to Tenby again this month.

The number of events has been cut down slightly this year to avoid being too close to Royal Jubilee events in the town.

The first event is a coffee morning at St. Johns Church on Wednesday, May 16. It starts at 10 am until 12 noon.

Then there is a concert featuring the Tenby Male Choir with a guest performer at 8.pm on Thursday, May 24. Entrance is £6 on the door at St. Mary's Church.

The traditional Tenby Christian Aid highlight of a special lunch, in St. Mary's Church House, has been postponed this year until Wednesday June 20. Tickets - in advance and at the door - are £8.

Malcolm Stacey, secretary of Tenby Christian Aid, said: 'This is a great opportunity to support what is becoming one of Britain's most popular ways of saving lives in the developing world.

"Christian Aid workers are expert in getting all the money to the places where it is needed most. Nothing is wasted.

"The organisation helps all faiths, not just Christians. Thousands of families are saved from death and starvation each year."

He added: "We also provide equipment and farming lessons to suffering people, so they can feed themselves in future."

Anyone who cannot attend any Christian Aid events in Tenby is asked to leave a donation at the doors - or at 9 Crackwell Street.
