Tenby police are asking local businesses to be aware of bogus telephone calls from persons claiming to be working for the police, requesting money in exchange for advertising their business on a wall/year planner.

"This may be a legitimate company cold calling for business. However, they are not supported by Dyfed-Powys Police and any advertising carried out by our organisation would not be conducted in this way," said a police spokesperson. "Please do not supply bank account details or offer any form of payment."

Any businesses approached in this way are asked to obtain a contact name and telephone number from the caller and inform Tenby police on 0834 330 2000.
