A-level students at Pembrokeshire College had their best results ever last week.

The overall pass rate for full-time under 19 students was 99 per cent, with 23 per cent A grades and 77 per cent of grades achieved in the A-C category.

It was good news for the 47 students who completed the Welsh Baccalaureate as part of their studies at advanced level. They have gained what is equivalent to an A-grade at A-level or an extra 120 UCAS points when applying to university.

Principal Glyn Jones said: "The excellent results reflect both the hard work of students and the high quality support, facilities and teaching at the college."

College students will be progressing on to a broad range of classical and vocational subjects at universities throughout the UK. Popular subjects this year include business and management, psychology, English, and law.

Managing finances whilst studying on a university course is an important factor this year with many of the students taking advantage of saving money by studying locally.

There were some very strong individual performances. Carys Mills achieved a whopping 600 UCAS points - four A-levels at A grade in History, French, Law and Environmental Science, and a Welsh Baccalaureate Qualification.
