A kite surfer was rescued on Sunday after getting into difficulty off Tenby's South Beach. Numerous 999 calls to the coastguard operations room at Milford Haven at approximately 11.50 am alerted the emergency rescue teams to the incident. The resort's RNLI inshore lifeboat and coastguard rescue team went to the aid of the 44-year-old Sageston man. Once on scene, the lifeboat crew plucked the man and his kite from the water and transported him back to the beach where the coastguard team were waiting. An experienced 'kiter', the man was becalmed when the wind changed and was unable to return to shore.
