Local beaches have been invaded! Thousands of strange invertebrates have been found washed ashore along our sands, including Tenby and Pendine. The bodies of the Velella Belella, which resemble jellyfish, are pebble-sized creatures and are also known as 'by-the-wind-sailors'. Harmless to people, they have small sail-like appendages and are blue in colour. Experts believe global warming could be part of the reason they have been found further north than usual for the time of year.
