Friends, family and loved ones of talented runner Sulien Luckman, who died earlier this year, are gathering together to remember him at the Pendine Sands Fun Run next month.
Friends of Tavernspite School have organised the fun run for a number of years and have decided to dedicate the June 2 event to former pupil Sulien who won the event in the past.
"It will be an extra special year for us this time as Sulien and his family have always been a big part of the fun run - usually winning a lot of the prizes!" said organiser Abi Hart.
"Last year, his two younger brothers won their age groups and Sulien entered the adults race, ran extremely well and took great delight in beating his former headteacher.
"Sulien was a very talented runner and we hope that lots of his school friends from Ysgol Dyffryn Taf and running club mates from Pembrokeshire Harriers will be supporting this year's run."
The money raised from sponsorship, on the day entries and a barbecue on the beach, will be split equally between the Spirit of Sulien Trust and Friends of Tavernspite School.
Sulien's father Frederick added: "Sulien loved running this event and took great pride in doing so well last year, we are hoping that as many as possible of his friends and running mates will be able to join us to celebrate his life and remember him in such a fitting way on June 2."
The fun run has seven age categories, from early years to adults, with trophies for the fastest boy and girl in each. Winners will also get a special t-shirt and all finishers win a medal. It costs £2.50 to take part in the 2km race and £5 for the 5km.
• The Pendine Sands Fun Run takes place on Sunday, June 2, registration opens 10 am, kids 2km starts 11 am and 12 years-plus 5km race at noon.
