The Paul Sartori Foundation is organising a family orientated ‘Hero’ walk to support its free services that it provides in the county of Pembrokeshire to people living in the later stages of any life limiting illness.

‘Steps for Sartori – Hero Walk’ is to start and finish at Pembroke Castle on Sunday September 24 at 10 am (registration from 8.30 am).

There are various route options to cater for all abilities 3, 6 or 12 miles with the furthest one heading to Neyland Marina.

Jon Williams, manager of Pembroke Castle, was enthused to hear of this walk and has been a follower of the charity for years, adding: “I am delighted that the ‘Steps for Sartori – Hero Walk’ will be starting and finishing at Pembroke Castle.

“I’m sure it will be a fun day and raise lots of money for the Paul Sartori Foundation”.

This is the second year that Paul Sartori Hospice at Home service has organised a ‘Hero’ walk and hope this will be an annual fundraiser for them, highlighting the importance of keeping their name in the community.

“It is important that as many people know about us so individuals who need our services know where to find us and how we can help,” said Paul Sartori community fundraiser Toni Dorkings.

“Local support for this event is crucial to its success and the Paul Sartori Foundation fundraising department is also encouraging businesses to sign up with teams and individuals with families.

“The services provided by the Paul Sartori Foundation are free of charge, available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and enable people who are living in the later stages of life to die at home if that is their wish. With dignity, independence, pain free and surrounded by those they hold most dear,” she added.
