It’s time to run, make a splash and get muddy as the Barafundle Bay Trailathlon returns to the National Trust’s Stackpole Estate on Sunday, October 8.
Now in its second year, the annual event - which is run by the Trust as part of the charity’s let the outdoors move you campaign - is an adrenaline-fuelled day of sporting activity that the whole family can get involved with.
Starting from Stackpole Quay, participants will take on a coast and countryside run (three or five miles for adults and 1.5 miles for children), scramble through a woodland obstacle course and make a splash along the water’s edge at Barafundle Bay.
The route will conclude with a final run across the headland back to Stackpole Quay to enjoy a barbecue at the Boathouse Tearoom and a well-earned goody bag.
More than 200 people took part in the debut event last year, with places now filling up fast for the 2017 Trailathlon. Visitors are advised to sign up soon to avoid disappointment, with booking closing on Wednesday, October 4.
Entry is £15 per adult, £10 per child and £40 for a family of four and can be booked online or via 01646 623110.
Registration will take place from 8.30 am on the day at Stackpole Quay car park (a £2 parking charge applies for non-members), with the event starting at 10 am and due to finish by 12.30 pm.
