Tenby's inshore lifeboat launched on Bank Holiday Monday after Milford Haven Coastguard heard a radio transmission requesting assistance from a vessel called the 'Nomad' in Sandersfoot Bay.
The coastguard was unable to re-establish communication with the vessel and feared the boat was in difficulty.
The ILB was tasked to check all the vessels in the bay while Tenby coastguard rescue team carried out further investigations on the shore. No vessel bearing the name was found.
Once the coastguard was satisfied that the vessel was no longer in danger, the inshore lifeboat was re-tasked and the all-weather lifeboat was launched to assist a 11-metre yacht with a fouled anchor near St. Catherine's Island.
The yacht's anchor had become wrapped around the keel of the yacht and disabled the propeller.
The skipper of the yacht became more concerned when he noticed his yacht was being drawn by the tide towards Sker rock, and contacted the coastguard for assistance.
The inshore lifeboat was first on scene and the crew spun the vessel around to free the anchor.
The yacht was then escorted by the lifeboat to the RNLI's outer mooring for a safe overnight stay.
