A £250 thank you from NatWest has enabled a lady from Kilgetty to help raise funds for her local playgroup.

Tanya James, who works at NatWest's Narberth branch, has recently won a NatWest Community Cashback Award for her role as chairperson of Kilgetty Playgroup.

The group meets three mornings a week, from 9.15 am to 12.15 pm, and there are currently 20 children of pre-school age attending the classes.

The scheme pays out awards ranging from £100 to £500 to individual employees and teams who make a difference to their communities by fund-raising, helping and managing local organisations and charities.

A sum of £250 is awarded to those who, like Tanya, are involved in the leadership or management of an organisation. In this way the bank will be injecting about £2 million into local communities the length and breadth of the UK.

Commenting on the award, Tanya said: "It's great that my employers are supporting my community involvement in this way. The money will assist the group greatly in its efforts to raise much-needed funds to build an outdoor play area."

Anne Marie, leader at Kilgetty Playgroup, added: "We are delighted that NatWest has recognised Tanya's involvement with our playgroup. The kind donation will go towards our project to build and equip an outdoor play area for the kids."

Anyone interested in assisting with the fund-raising or would like to make a contribution to the group should contact Anne-Marie on 07816391418.
