Last Tuesday - the hottest summer afternoon of the year - Integra Brass performed on the new decking at Saundersfoot Harbour. Holidaymakers and local residents were drawn to the deck to hear a preview concert.

Band leader Craig Mann said how delighted they were to be back in Saundersfoot and introduced the members of the talented band. The musicians gave a polished and varied performance ranging from Dad’s Army, Mary Poppins and Abba to traditional hymns and gospel music.

The following evening, Integra Brass gave a concert in the Regency Hall in aid of the charity Rwanda Restored. The extensive repertoire for the evening commenced with Glen Miller’s big band numbers, a Beatles classic and hits from stage and screen. Younger members of the audience especially enjoyed ‘The Bare Necessities’ from Disney’s Jungle Book. Several soloists performed, including Craig Mann himself - a very accomplished musician who played numerous instruments throughout the evening.

During the interval, Integra’s new CD Sway was on sale and items made by widows and orphans in Rwanda were available from Geoff Lane, director of Rwanda Restored. Following refreshments, Mr. Lane showed pictures portraying the development of Kigali Secondary School and its new dormitory which opened in January.

The second half of the concert celebrated the centenary of Frank Sinatra’s birth and was dedicated to his music, including Come Fly With Me, The Lady is a Tramp, Autumn Leaves, I Love You, and finally New York, New York.

The rapturous applause of the audience was rewarded with the encore ‘I Did It My Way,’ and the band bid farewell with ‘Calon Lan’.

This was the second Integra Brass concert hosted by Hebron Baptist Church in support of Rwanda Restored. For more info, visit hebronbaptistsaundersfoot.org
