Sir,

I am a regular holiday visitor to Tenby and an avid reader of your informative 'paper whenever I'm in the area. Pembrokeshire is one of my favourite parts of the county and I have a special fondness for Tenby, as it is a quaint and picturesque place.

I always notice how clean it is kept, compared to many of our towns these days.

However, I was very saddened when I arrived at Tenby railway station for my return journey home (I normally travel down by car) to see the accumulation of so much litter on the waste ground below the station platform; full of hundreds of empty drinks cans, plastic and glass bottles, crisp packets and other various items strewn along this area of the station. I have to say it looked an absolute eyesore and disgrace, as other visitors returning home by train also commented.

It seemed as if people must have seen so much litter there, that they decided there was no harm in throwing their rubbish down there also and as a result. Also, so much of this 'rubbish' could be recycled - aluminium cans, plastic and glass.

This 'eyesore' is a very bad advert for Tenby which otherwise has so many positive attributes.
