Dedicated Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) supporters from across South Wales received awards for their hard work and dedication, during a presentation ceremony at Tenby Lifeboat Station earlier this month.
Two gold, six silver, and five bronze badges were presented to recipients by Mr. John Allen- Mirehouse, lifeboat operations manager at Angle RNLI Lifeboat Station. A certificate of thanks was also presented to Pam and Paul Jackson from Tenby.
Awards were presented to the following: Gold badge - Maureen Owen, St. Davids branch; Rowena Sturgess, Fishguard branch. Silver badge - Lorna Cripps, Burry Port Ladies; Janet Cross, Burry Port Ladies; Elaine Davey, Cardiff branch; Sue King, St. Davids branch; Doreen Mortimer, Tenby branch; Janet Thomas, Tenby branch; Bronze badge - Linda Bingham, Saundersfoot branch; Pam Davies - Fishguard branch; Anne Lister - Cardigan branch; Eve Mayhew - Cardigan branch; Brenda Lapham, Newport, Gwent branch. RNLI certificate of thanks - Pam and Paul Jackson , Tenby branch.
Beverley Rosser Smith, RNLI area fund-raising manager, said: "The awards ceremony gave the RNLI an opportunity to say thank you to volunteers across South Wales, who work tirelessly to ensure the RNLI can continue saving lives at sea.
"If it wasn't for our dedicated fund-raising volunteers, RNLI crews would not be able to continue rescuing 22 people every single day. The awards were thoroughly deserved and enabled us to show all the volunteers how much their hard work is appreciated."
