Debut novel of Wendy Hobbs, who gave up a legal career to follow her dream of becoming a children’s author. Claudia Quash: The Spell of Pencliff is a young adult fantasy, suitable for ages 7/8 and adults who enjoy an original fantasy. It takes you on a magical adventure with amazing characters and weaves elements of steampunk within the fantasy that sets it apart from other stories in the same genre. It has already received some amazing reviews and it has been described by one reviewer as a ‘sort of Narnia meets Alice in Wonderful meets time-travel adventure and therefore very gripping.’
“I drew inspiration for the book from my daughter (also called Claudia) and Tenby as I regard it as my second home and I own a property in the area,” said Wendy. “Pencliff is based on Tenby and its award-winning beaches, the Tudor Merchant’s House, St. Catherine’s Island (St Agatha’s Island) and the Ghost Walk which all feature in the story.”
The book is available from Tenby Bookshop and Wendy has been invited to do an author signing shortly. It is also available on Amazon as a paperback, Kindle, E-book and as an Audiobook on Amazon, iBooks, Audible and iTunes, Noteworthy List.
“I am also hoping to visit some of the schools in the area to talk about my experiences as a published author,” added Wendy.
