The Saundersfoot, Tenby and District Committee of Macmillan Cancer Relief raised nearly £2,000 in August thanks to the generosity of individuals and that of the general public. Mr. Chris Lloyd, of Tenby, ran the Tenby 10K for Macmillan and raised over £275. He is grateful to family, colleagues at SES Engineering at Milford Haven, and friends from the Evergreen Inn, Tenby, especially the Nomads, for their support. A Flag Day on August 21 in Saundersfoot, Tenby, Kilgetty and New Hedges saw committee members and helpers out collecting in Macmillan's distinctive green and white colours. The public responded well and £1,532 was raised. Finally, committee chairman, Penelope Meyrick, with members Val King and Ann Einon, held a sale of Welsh cakes and marmalade on Saundersfoot Harbour on August 29, raising an admirable £132. All money will go to Macmillan's South West Wales Appeal. This will boost the number of specialist professionals who will help cancer patients and their families in the region.
