THE controversial, agenda-setting author; acclaimed academic; outspokenbroadcaster; groundbreaking publisher; feminist icon and public figure that is Germaine Greer will be appearing at the Queen's Hall, Narberth, on Sunday, May 6.

This Audience with Germaine Greer, '40 Years of Feminism and Fun', presented by Alan Jones, supported by local arts charity Span Arts, represents a real coup and promises to be a night to remember.

The distinguished antipodean scholar and champion of feminisim, who 'bulldozed her way into women's mind and changed lives' (Homa Khaleeli, The Guardian) with the publication of her international bestseller - The Female Eunuch - in 1970, which brought her both adulation and opposition, can, and will, discuss any subject under the sun in her own distinctive and combative style and never fails to entertain.

Constantly sought after as a journalist, commentator and reviewer, Germaine Greer is a regular on radio and television, appearing on BBC2's The Late Review, Have I Got News for You and Angry Old Women, to name but a few.

Renowned for, and constantly sought after for her views on the role of women in today's world, Greer has written articles for the Sun in favour of Page 3, celebrated the objectification of boys and, controversially, taken part in Celebrity Big Brother. Consequently some feminists believe Greer, now 73, is trampling on her own legacy. However, she is, quite simply, impossible to ignore as she continues to needle, outrage and spark debate.

With topics ranging from Tom Jones's private parts to President Obama's transformation into a robot, Greer's colourful imagery perfectly illustrates her radical world view.

This event, which received a standing ovation in Cardiff on her 73rd birthday, provides a unique opportunity to get up close and personal with and hear the inside scoop on the enormous fun Greer has had as a fearless international feminist icon and highly regarded academic and is guaranteed to be candid, enlightening, and highly entertaining. And, of course, you can ask all those burning questions you have been longing to throw at her!

Doors open at 7.30 pm, tickets are £15 in advance, £17 on the door. Available through Queen's Hall, Narberth Box Office, on 01834 861212, or the website http://www.queenshall.org.uk">www.queenshall.org.uk
