High Tide is a week of unique arts activities organised by MADCAP, Manorbier and District Community Arts Programme that will run from Monday (August 25) through to Saturday (August 30) at Skrinkle Community Centre, Manorbier.
The event includes a week-long carnival camp where participants will make costumes and sculptures on the theme of the coastal environment, including a giant Manorbier Castle, together with life-size cockles and limpets and other sea creatures.
The event will culminate in a procession on the Saturday, starting at 2pm from Manorbier Playing Fields.
The procession will make its way to Manorbier Beach and will be accompanied by local bagpipe players, drummers and other percussionists. .
The workshops will be run by professional local artist, Christopher Elliott who has worked on festivals and carnivals all over Wales.
Anyone is welcome to join in the procession, but participants wishing to join in the week-long carnival camp will need to book in advance.
The cost is £5 per person for the week, and it is open to all ages. Children eight years and under must be accompanied by an adult.
The workshops will run from 10 am to 3 pm Monday to Friday, and participants will need to book for the whole week.
