AN artist with strong local connections, John Uzzell Edwards, is showing 10 new paintings at The Dylan Thomas Centre, Somerset Place, Swansea, until September 6.

The exhibition, open every day from 10 am to 4.30 pm, features John's large, vibrant, collaged paintings.

The inspiration comes from  quilts made from miners shirts, quarrymen's work-suits, maids dresses and tailors samples - 18th century recycling!

He has dedicated the exhibition to the memory of the Welsh poet, Aeronwy Thomas.
